# About Wellness Lumen

## Finding Clarity in the Noise of Wellness Culture

We started Wellness Lumen because we’re tired of wellness content that feels like it was written by a committee of marketers – polished, generic, and completely disconnected from how real people live.

Between the 5 AM routines, the detox teas, the “secret” supplements, and the influencers selling you a lifestyle you can’t afford – it’s exhausting. And honestly, most of it doesn’t even work.

So we built something different. A wellness site that actually talks to humans.

## What We Cover

### Nutrition

Real food advice without the dogma. We don’t believe in good foods and bad foods. We explore how to build a relationship with food that actually serves you – intuitive eating, mindful habits, and practical strategies that don’t require a spreadsheet.

### Mental Health

Mental wellness isn’t a trend to us. It’s the foundation everything else sits on. We cover anxiety management, stress reduction, healthy boundaries, and the small shifts that make a real difference – not quick fixes that wear off by Wednesday.

### Sleep & Recovery

Sleep isn’t a luxury. It’s the single most impactful thing you can do for your health. We explore sleep hygiene, napping strategies, recovery routines, and the science behind why rest is the foundation of performance.

### Daily Rhythm & Habits

We’re obsessed with the question: “How do you build habits that actually stick?” Not the kind of habits you abandon by February, but the small, sustainable practices that compound over months and years.

### Movement & Body Wellness

Exercise doesn’t have to be a punishment. We cover gentle movement practices – stretching, walking, yoga – that make your body feel better without turning fitness into another source of stress.

## How We Do Things Differently

### We Write From Experience

Every piece of content starts with a real question. Something we’ve struggled with, researched, tested, and learned from. You won’t find corporate wellness-speak here. You’ll find people talking honestly about what works, what doesn’t, and why.

### We Ground Everything in Evidence

Personal experience is great. But we back it up with research. When we make a claim, we cite the actual studies. NIH, PubMed, Harvard, WHO – if it’s worth saying, it’s worth showing where we got it.

### We Keep It Simple

You don’t need a 5-step morning routine that takes 90 minutes. You don’t need to track every meal. You don’t need to buy anything to be healthier. We focus on what actually moves the needle – and we tell you what to skip.

### We Say What’s True

No false promises. No “lose 10 pounds in 10 days” nonsense. Good wellness doesn’t come in a weekend. We respect your intelligence enough to tell you the truth, even when it’s not the most exciting headline.

## Meet the Team

### Sarah Chen – Founding Editor & Wellness Writer

Sarah spent years cycling through wellness trends before realizing the answer was simpler than anyone was telling her. She holds a degree in Nutritional Science and has been writing about evidence-based wellness for over eight years. When she’s not researching, she’s probably walking her dog in the park or trying new recipes that she’ll swear are healthy until the cheese goes in.

### Dr. Michael Torres – Medical Reviewer & Nutrition Advisor

Dr. Torres is a licensed nutrition specialist and registered dietitian with over 12 years of clinical experience. He reviews all medical and nutrition-related content to ensure accuracy and compliance with current health guidelines. He believes that the best nutrition advice is the advice you can actually follow in real life.

### Jordan Rivera – Content Strategist & Research Lead

Jordan has a background in behavioral psychology and spends his days making sure our content doesn’t just sound good – it actually works. He’s the one who fact-checks every claim, tracks down the original studies, and makes sure nothing gets published unless it holds up to scrutiny.

## Our Editorial Process

Every article goes through a structured process before it reaches you:

1. Research & Discovery – We dig into peer-reviewed studies, government health resources, and expert interviews. No “according to experts” without naming the experts.

2. Drafting – Our writers create detailed first drafts with all research citations, practical examples, and real-world applications.

3. Medical Review – All health, nutrition, and medical content is reviewed by qualified professionals. We don’t give medical advice – we give information, and we make that clear.

4. Editing – We polish the content for clarity, tone, and accuracy. Every article is tested for readability and practical value.

5. Fact-Checking – Before publication, we verify every claim, every statistic, and every reference. If we can’t find the source, it doesn’t make the article.

## Why Trust Us?

No sponsored content disguised as reviews. We don’t take money to recommend products. Period.

We cite our sources. Every study mentioned has a real link you can check.

We update old content. The health field moves fast. We review and update our articles regularly to stay current.

We admit when we don’t know something. If a topic is outside our expertise, we say so – and we bring in the right experts.

We have a medical review board. Health content is reviewed by licensed professionals before publication.

## Our Promise to You

Wellness Lumen exists to make wellness simple, honest, and actually doable. We’re not here to sell you something. We’re here to share what works, what’s backed by science, and what real people can actually do without their life falling apart.

If you find something here that helps – even a little – that’s exactly what we’re aiming for.
